WILLIAM BUIST
1910 & 1911

In November 1910, Constable Buist, at night, dived into the Monkland Canal and, after a long struggle, rescued a man from drowing himself.
In April 1911, he effected a second rescue from the same canal. On this occasion he rescued a boy from drowning.
