Constable
GEORGE FERGUSON
1923

On 2 July, 1923, Constable Ferguson was on points duty in Glasgow city centre when he saw a runaway horse pulling a heavy cart bearing down on him. He stopped the traffic and grabbed the reins of the horse as it passed him. He was dragged for a considerable distance before bringing it to a stop. He injured his hand and leg in the incident.
